SUMMER GAMES

Where:  Harding University in Searcy
When:  May 12th & 13th
           What Sports: 
  • Track & Field
  • Powerlifting
  • ​Swimming
  • Tennis (Singles Competition, Unified Doubles Competition, and Individual Skills)
  • Bocce (Traditional Competition only)
  •  Flag Football (Traditional and Unified Competition)​

Due to no overnight stays, teams/individuals will be assigned a competition day to compete during the 2 day event. This means Teams/individuals will be allowed to return home the same day of their competition

​Opening Ceremonies
So that each team can celebrate, Special Olympics Arkansas will be streaming Opening Ceremonies on Wednesday, May 11th . Streaming details coming soon!

Awards
All teams/individuals will receive their awards the day in which they compete. Award locations for each sport will be provided at a later date

Healthy Athletes
During the time that your team/athletes is assigned to compete there will also be Healthy Athletes disciplines on campus. We encourage you to visit the Healthy Athletes disciplines. There will be a limited number of Healthy Athletes disciplines offered per day. Please make plans to have your team/athlete participate. Each athlete that goes through each discipline offered on your assigned day will get a free 2022 Healthy Athletes shirt! Questions about Healthy Athletes can be directed to Jennifer Avery.

Volunteers
 This is our biggest sporting event of the year. If you are  interested in volunteering at our Summer Games please report to the volunteer tent  near Harding Stadium on Thursday or Friday. For questions   please contact  Jennifer Edwards .

Law Enforcement Torch Run to Summer Games
The excitement for the event will really kick-off on May 9th as Law Enforcement Officers begin carrying the “Flame of Hope” from all four corners of the state. During this three day journey Centennial Bank will host Torch Arrival Celebrations at several of their community branches. These celebrations are meant to serve as a pep rally to bring awareness for Special Olympics Arkansas athletes and Summer Games.

Law Enforcement are working hard to make sure their routes are ready to go for 2022 Law Enforcement Torch Run! Communities can expect to see the Torch Run in their cities on their traditional day of the week. More specific route information will be released in April. You can show your support by purchasing a   2022 Torch Run t-shirt.

Final Leg:   At this time the Final Leg is set to run the 50 miles to Searcy on May 11th. Officers interested in joining are welcome to meet at the Capitol Steps 9am Wednesday May 11th.  For more information regarding the 2022 Law Enforcement Torch Run please contact   Camie Powell     for more information.

Your organization will share its mission and any resources or upcoming events with visitors.
Registration is due by April  20th
