2025 Special Olympics Arkansas Most Impactful Moments
In 2025, Special Olympics Arkansas experienced a year of meaningful growth and positive change, driven by community support, athlete leadership, and expanded opportunities across the state. New partnerships and fundraising efforts helped strengthen programs that provide year-round training, competition, and health resources for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Athletes gained more visibility through statewide events that brought communities together and highlighted the importance of inclusion. In 2025, Special Olympics Arkansas expanded professional development in Inclusive Health and Unified Champion Schools through a robust increase in training events. More than 1,500 partners were equipped with inclusive practices, strengthening our statewide commitment to healthier communities and more unified learning environments.

We expanded opportunities for inclusion by introducing the Motor Activities Training Program. Designed to provide meaningful sports experiences for athletes of all ability levels, this program opens new pathways for participation and celebrates the power of movement and play.

Topgolf partnership grows, opening doors for sports and fundraising! The competition grew to more than over 500 athletes along with the giving season and successful Tip-A-Cop events in Rogers and Little Rock. The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Arkansas exceeded their goals in 2025, celebrating record participation and surpassing an all-time fundraising milestone of $600,000—a first in its history! Exciting new additions were: the Plane Pull signature event, an expanded Final Leg route to Summer Games in Area 2, and a statewide Tip-A-Cop at Texas Roadhouse, amplifying community engagement like never before.

Young Athletes program cultivates a stronger foundation for ages 10 and under; adding first Young Athletes Day Camp hosted at 2025 Sports Camp, increased resources and visibility for Junior Athletes, and expanding the health and wellness events for ages 2-7 with the Healthy Young Athletes event hosted November 4th in Magnolia, AR. This event combined health education and sports play. This milestone was made possible through strong collaboration with the Healthy Young Athletes Clinical Director, Sarah Clark, Magnolia Specialized Services, Summit Community Care and so many of our local partners in Area 15.
