40  Stories for 40 years: Jeremy Cupp

Story #1

When Jeremy Cupp first stepped into the June heat of 2015 to support Special Olympics Arkansas during the annual Torch Run, he thought he was showing up for a single fundraising event. What he didn’t know was that this moment would quietly open the door to one of the most meaningful chapters of his life.

That day wasn’t just the start of a run. It was the start of a calling.

Over the next ten years, Jeremy found himself woven into the fabric of Special Olympics Arkansas in ways he never expected. What began as a simple act of support grew into a decade of connection, community, and purpose. He found himself at BINGO nights where laughter filled the room, at car shows where engines roared for a cause, at poker tournaments, ballpark games, silent auctions, and creative fundraisers of every kind.

Each event required time, energy, and planning but none of it ever felt like work.

What kept Jeremy coming back wasn’t just the fun or the camaraderie. It was the clarity of the mission. He saw exactly where every dollar went: directly to the athletes and their families. He saw how Special Olympics Arkansas removes financial barriers, so parents don’t have to worry about travel costs or equipment. He saw how it creates opportunities for athletes to compete with pride, confidence, and joy.

Over the years, Jeremy watched athletes' step into their own strength. He watched families beam with pride. He watched communities rally around inclusion and possibility. And somewhere along the way, he realized that Special Olympics Arkansas had changed him, too.

“The joy is real. The impact is real,” he says. “And the mission is something I am incredibly proud to support.”

Now, as the Northwest Arkansas Board of REALTORS® celebrates 40 years of partnership with Special Olympics Arkansas, Jeremy’s story stands as a testament to what long-term commitment can do. It’s a reminder that impact isn’t always loud or dramatic. Sometimes it’s built event by event.
After a decade of involvement, Jeremy no longer sees Special Olympics Arkansas as a cause for which he shows up. It’s a community he belongs to and one that has changed him for the better.

“Being a small part of helping these athletes experience opportunity, dignity, and joy is one of the most rewarding things I’ve been able to do,” he reflects. “I’m grateful for every moment along the way.”

Forty years of partnership is more than a milestone. It’s a legacy. And stories like Jeremy’s show exactly why it matters. Share your impact story with us!
