A 40‑Year Partnership, Told Through One Realtor’s Heart
In 2019, Kimberly thought she was simply showing up to help “just volunteer”, she was going to be just a judge for the banner competition at Area 1 Spring Games. But the moment she stepped onto that field, everything changed.
She remembers every feeling she had as she watched; the athletes lining up with their teams, felt the music, the anticipation, and then she saw all those smiles. Pure, unfiltered joy radiating so brightly. Everyone was celebrating acceptance, inclusion, and you could feel it in the air.
That day didn’t just introduce her to Special Olympics Arkansas. It anchored her to it.
From that moment forward, she wasn’t just involved, she was invested. She poured herself into fundraising stepping up to chair the local Special Olympics Realtor committee again and again. She was determined that each year would be bigger, better, and more impactful than the last. Her drive all started in that one moment where she thought she was “just a volunteer.” She found so much more that day.
Kimberly was proud to create a fundraiser called the Roadblock fundraiser, the first year it raised just over $2,000. The next year the event doubled raising $5,000.49. Then in 2026, they exceeded their expectations once again reaching $6,338.03. The numbers keep growing and even better than that, so did the community around it.
She’ll tell you the truth: It takes some time away from business. The roadblock fundraiser means hours in the sun, on the street, or promoting the event. Yes, it takes some hard work to create a fundraiser. But she’ll also tell you it is something she believes with her whole heart:

When you see an athlete cross a finish line in a race they have poured their heart into, and you can tell they’ve left every ounce of effort on the track; when you watch a parent cry because their child is celebrated, not sidelined; or when you personally witness courage, determination, and joy in their purest forms, you truly understand why this partnership between Arkansas Realtors and Special Olympics Arkansas matters.
This year, Kimberly attended the 2026 Special Olympics Arkansas Summer Games for the first time. She watched thousands of athletes compete with heart. She has vowed to come back every year that she can to feel the energy of the athletes!
