February Impact on inclusion award: Kindred Pediatric Therapy

Kindred Pediatric Therapy has been actively expanding its involvement with the Special Olympics Young Athletes program, creating meaningful and engaging opportunities for children in the community to grow, move, and thrive. By utilizing the structured and creative lesson plans during regular program hours, along with additional sessions multiple times each week, the organization has significantly increased access to physical activity and skill development for young participants. These expanded offerings ensure that more children can build fundamental motor skills, gain confidence, and experience the joy of movement in a supportive environment.

Through a strong and collaborative partnership with Special Olympics Arkansas, Kindred Pediatrics has strengthened the quality and reach of its programming. This partnership, combined with the support of a dedicated intern, has allowed the organization to create more opportunities than ever before for children of all abilities to participate. Together, they have worked to remove barriers, provide individualized support, and foster a welcoming atmosphere where every child feels valued and included.

In addition to expanding Young Athletes programming, Kindred Pediatrics has stepped into a leadership role for both Young Athletes and the Motor Activity Training Program (MATP). They will be managing the addition of Young Athletes and MATP at Special Olympics Arkansas Area 3 Spring Games to provide additional opportunities to athletes of all ages and abilities. By taking on this leadership responsibility, Kindred Pediatrics has demonstrated its commitment to serving a broader range of participants and ensuring that no athlete is left without opportunity.

They are also helping Special Olympics Arkansas provide opportunities for future athletes by participating in Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge. Their generous donations allow Special Olympics Arkansas to provide sports, health, and leadership opportunities to athletes of all ages. To increase awareness for the organization, they have added a Young Athletes Field Day to recognize the achievements of their Young Athletes that have completed the curriculum and to celebrate an inclusive environment for all!

As the program continues to grow, Kindred Pediatrics remains focused on expanding inclusive programming and increasing access for athletes of all abilities. Their dedication reflects a deep commitment to empowering children, supporting families, and building a stronger, more inclusive community through sport and movement.
